Kachwaha King Mansingh I got these palaces built in 1592. King Mansingh was one of Akbar's generals and Navratnas.This palace is a combination of Hindu and Muslim styles.
This palace is situated on a hillock. Mawtha Lake is situated near Amer Fort. Mawtha Lake has beautiful saffron flowerbeds called Mohanbadi.
Diwan-e-Aam
The Diwan-e-Aam of the palaces of Amer was built by Maharaja Mirza Raja Jaisingh.
It looks like a common court. Its entrance is Singhpol.
Mansingh palace
This is the oldest palace of the palaces of Amer.It was built by Maharaja Mansingh I in 1587.
The inner entrance of Amer palace is called Ganeshpol.
Diwan-e-khas
It is situated on the left side as soon as you enter from Ganeshpole.This is a two storey building.Its first floor is called Jai Mandir.
Sheesh Mahal
Diwan e Khas second floor is called Jas Mandir or Sheesh Mahal. Its second floor has engraved mirror inlay work.
Its construction was completed by Mirza Raja Jaisingh.
It is called Jai Mandir after the name of the creator.Due to the beautiful inlay work of mirrors, it is called Sheesh Mahal.
Sukh Mandir is situated in the west of Diwan-i-Khas.
Suhag Mandir
It is situated on the third floor above Ganeshpol. It is a rectangular building.
Courthouse
This Courthouse is situated on the right side of the Diwan-e-Aam. It is an octagonal arched porch which is based on 27 pillars.
Jagat Shiromni Temple
This temple was built by Queen Kankavati in the memory of her son Jagat Singh. Queen Kankawati was the queen of the Kachwaha king Mansingh the First.His son Jagat Singh was died untimely.
This temple was built in Samvat 1656 (year 1599 AD).
A black stone idol of Krishna is enshrined in this temple. Meera used to worship this idol in Chittor.Mansingh brought it from Chittor.
Shila Devi Temple
It is located in Jaleb Chowk of Amer Palace. This is Dugdh Dhawal Temple of Shila Devi situated at the South West corner of Jaleb Chowk.
Shila Mata is the worship goddess of Kachwaha Raj family.
Jaipur Maharaja Mansingh brought this idol from Bengal in 1604 AD.
Sawai Mansingh second get constructed the present temple.
